Antique Advertising Signs



Item 1: Early Dutch Blue Band" "Versch Gekarnd" porceain advertising sign. Sign measure 19 1/2" high x 13" wide. Part of a makers name is still on there "Emeilli-Werk.Peter-". Sign has full 100% gloss, good colour and edge chips

Item 2: Original early "Huntley & Plamers Ginger Nuts" porcealin advertising sign with original early "Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Barrel". Sign is marked "Reading London" "Made in England" and measures 18" wide x 18 1/2" high. Biscuit barrel measures 15" hign, base dia, 6" with sligh smudge to acid etching at letters "MER" Sign has 100% gloss, slight surface scratches to certre of sign.

Item 3: Kestein's Rijwielen" porcelain advertising sign. Post mount, double sided, good gloss and colour. Sign measures 20" wide x 13" high and makers name is "Boos. Hahan G.M.B H. Ortenbery-Baden"

Item 5: Rare early Dutch porcelain advertising sign c1910 advertising "TEOLIN" "JAPANLAK & ENAMEL", JAPANLAK is the Dutch language for varvish. The company "Geo.Wehry & Co" were the sole export distributors of TEOLIN and located in Batavia Indonesia. The business was started by Jacobson Van Bery in 1860 with its headquarters in Rotterdam and moved to Batavia Indonesia in the latter part of the 1860's. By the end of the century it had branches in Surabaya,Cirebon,and Semarang and were the sole exporters of Teolin out of the country. The sign measures 30" high x 19 1/2" wide and has full gloss and two chips one centre 1 3/4" and the other and centre top left 1 1/4". There are a few light scratches and the makers name is printed across the bottom of the sign "TORPEDO EMAIL FRANKFURTER EMAILLIRWERKE-NEU-JESENBURG"

Item 6: U.S.A drug store thermometer advertising "Listerine the safe antiseptic for coughs, colds, sore throats, bad breath". The sign measures 30" high and 13" wide and is almost in mint condition with 100% full gloss and two minor chips, top screw hole and bottom left and corner. The thermometer is in fahrenheit and centigrade and is working 100% .The sign is marked "Made in the U.S.A".

Item 7: Early Dutch porcelain advertising sign c1910 "CACAO DROSTE". Sign measures 23 1/2" high x 15" wide and has only screw hole flaking. Gloss is 100% and little or no scratches.
This sign is not for sale and is for exhibit only.




Item 8: Early porcelain advertising sign "KLOSTER BIER". Makers name "Pyro-Email Boos & Hahn Ortenberg- Baden". Sign measures 23 1/2" high x 16 1/2 " wide and has full gloss and little edge damage.

Item 9: Early English porcelain advertising sign advertising "Ruston-Hornesby Oil Engines". The sign was made for the company "Greaves Cotton & Co. LTD" in Lahore Bombay who was "Greaves Cotton England" founded in 1859. In 1937 Greaves Cotton entered into an allience with Crompton Parkinson of England to introduce a rage of products in India. They than joined hands with Ruston-Hornesby LTD, England in 1939 and started manufacturing diesel engines. The sign was made in England and is marked "STOCAL BURTON" and measures 30" high x 20 wide and has 100% full gloss.

Item 10: Early Swiss porcelain advertising shop button sign "HERO LENZBOURG". Hero was an early Swiss international food manufacturing group processing fruit conserven, fruit and vegetables. Sign measure 9 1/2" in dia and has full gloss

Item12: Early acid etched USA glass tobacco jar c1900's marked "Central Union Cut Plug The United States Tobacco Co. Richmond Virgina". Back of the jar reads "Smoke Or Chew Central Union Cut Plug" and the lid is marked Central Union Cut Plug". This jar would have been a one only storage jar probably made for a tobacconist. Jar measures 14" high x 8" dia and is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips
